Airspaces are the frictionless, nondescript, sterile and yet highly aestheticized, gentrified spaces of airbnb rentals, trendy cafes and ubiquitous modern condominiums. These spaces maintain an aesthetic much like a digital interface, balancing newness with familiarity to create an aesthetic that gives the illusion of a responsive yet totally universal experience. The mass proliferation of these homogenous spaces is decentralized, as lifestyle bloggers, renters and homeowners across the globe prize and mimic these aesthetics for their associations with class and wealth.
