We made a monument to love:


As I live the infinite density of life


I turn to landscape, to geography
 to monolith, to volcano
 to earthquake, to canyon
 to make form of these
 shifting layers upon layers of life
 of land of soil of memory
 of bloom of decay of touch
 of tears of abundance of loss
 of joy of sorrow of torment
 of toil of dreams of hunger


As I live life is edified only by land;
 the geologic
 the lithic
 strata
 sediment
 each year an infinitesimal millimeter
 spread upon the grandeur of this
 humming youthful earth groaning


Oh groaning time muffled by haste,


Let my fingers linger and trace:
 the arborescence of each day
 each turning of the moon
 each orbit around the sun
 in these
 the time known by a humble seed


We make a monument to love!

Me dirijo paisaje, a geografia
a monolito, a volcán
a terremoto, a cañón
a crear formas de éstas
capas y capas de vida movediza
de tierra de suelo de memoria

de alegria de dolor de tormento
del esfuerzo de sueños de hambre


Mientras vivo la vida es edificada solo por tierra;

estratos
sedimento
cada año un milímetro infinitésimo
propagado sobre la grandiosidad de esta
